Senator Bill Weber Honors Roxanne Watson on Valentine's Day/National Donor Day

Roxanne Watson's story is one of willpower, hope, and selflessness. She is a heart transplant recipient who had spent two long years on the transplant list before receiving a heart from her donor, Michael Bovill. Her new lease on life sparked a passion within her to help others in similar need. She set out on a mission to raise awareness about organ donation's importance and encourage everyone to sign up for the national organ donor registry.

February is American Heart Month. February 14th is Valentine's Day and National Donor Day. It's fitting that we honor both special occasions on the same day, representing love and generosity, two qualities that exemplify Roxanne's special mission.

In honoring Roxanne's work, Senator Weber said, "Thank you, Roxanne, for your unwavering commitment and dedication to saving lives through organ donation. You are a shining example of the power of determination, compassion, and the human spirit. Congratulations on this tremendous milestone of registering 13,000 donors. I am proud to have signed up as an organ donor through you years ago. You are a true hero and an inspiration to us all. Your remarkable contribution to this important cause will be appreciated for years to come by the grateful recipients, their families, and the entire community."
