(East Patchogue) – NYS Senator Dean Murray presented David Kennedy, Executive Director of the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce with the NYS Senate Empire Award.  The Senator was joined by the Chamber’s Executive Board to recognize Mr. Kennedy for his hard work and dedication over his tenure.

Mr. Kennedy has been the Patchogue Chamber’s Executive Director for ten years and prior to that he was a long-standing civic member of the chamber and served on their board of directors and executive board.  He also served as a Patchogue Village Trustee, being instrumental in the Patchogue Riverfront Redevelopment.  Mr. Kenndy has been an asset to the Chamber with his knowledge of the Greater Patchogue area, his mission is to develop new programs that benefit the members and the community.

As the Ranking Minority member of the Senate's Commerce, Economic Development and Small Business committee, and a small business owner myself, I truly enjoy working with the many business leaders throughout the 3rd Senate District. Many times, those same business leaders serve on the Boards of their local Chambers of Commerce, helping to promote and grow their local business communities. The Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce is one that has been wildly successful, helping to create an incredibly vibrant and active business community and much of that success is due to the efforts of their Executive Director, David Kennedy,” said NYS Senator Dean Murray, 3rd Senate District.

Murray added, "In addition to him being a driving force in the business community, he's also an all-around great guy."
