Tedisco Honors "Halfmoon Hero" Raymond Keller

Halfmoon - - Senator Jim Tedisco joined the Halfmoon Town Board to honor U.S. Coast Guard Veteran Raymond Keller of Halfmoon as a "Hafmoon Hero" and presented him with a New York State Senate Citation for his service to Saratoga County residents.

Mr. Keller has been a lifelong member of the West Crescent Fire Department, has provided delicious food through the years as a head butcher and umpired youth baseball for 35 years (including 3 Little League World Series). Perhaps his favorite endeavor has been driving for the Halfmoon Senior Shuttle and Meals on Wheels program.

"The US Surgeon General recently issued a startling report that says one of the greatest public health threats right now is loneliness and isolation. Ray Keller has done so much as a driver for the senior shuttle to help build connections with people and fight that loneliness and isolation. I was proud to honor him with a NYS Senate citation for all he has done for our community and to encourage camaraderie among his neighbors and fellow residents and fight that social isolation and loneliness that too many people are experiencing," said Senator Jim Tedisco.
