         2                  ACTING PRESIDENT STEWART-COUSINS:

         3       The Senate will please come to order.

         4                  I ask everyone present to rise and

         5       recite with me the Pledge of Allegiance to our

         6       Flag.

         7                  (Whereupon, the assemblage recited

         8       the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.)

         9                  ACTING PRESIDENT STEWART-COUSINS:

        10       In the absence of clergy, may we all bow our

        11       heads for a moment of silence.

        17                  SENATOR KLEIN:    Madam President,

        18       as we know, we're here for our second day this

        19       week.  The Governor called us here for an

        20       Extraordinary Session to deal with the deficit

        21       reduction plan.

        22                  As you know, in order to start the

        23       Extraordinary Session, we need a bill from the

        24       Governor, which we presently do not have.  So

         1       until the Governor sends us a bill or informs

         2       us what his intentions are, can we please

         3       stand at ease.

         4                  ACTING PRESIDENT STEWART-COUSINS:

         5       Senator Klein, thank you.  We will stand at

         6       ease.  Prior to that, though, I should have

         7       asked for the reading of the Journal.

         8                  So I will ask for the reading of

         9       the Journal.

        10                  The Secretary will read.

        11                  THE SECRETARY:    In Senate,

        12       Monday, November 30, the Senate, in

        13       Extraordinary Session, met pursuant to

        14       adjournment.  The Journal of Sunday,

        15       November 29, was read and approved.  On

        16       motion, Senate adjourned.

        17                  ACTING PRESIDENT STEWART-COUSINS:

        18       Without objection, the Journal stands approved

        19       as read.

        20                  Senator Klein, I will ask you to

        21       ask us again.

        22                  SENATOR KLEIN:    Can we please
