Nothern Manhattan Uptown Games
216 Fort Washington Avenue 168th Street and Ft. Washington Ave,
New York,
NY

On Sunday, April 1st, 300 Public School Students from 20 schools across Washington Heights & Inwood's District 6, will participate in the first-ever Northern Manhattan Uptown Games at the Washington Heights Armory Track.
The Uptown Games is a track and field event for students ranging from 3rd to 8th grades, to learn about how fun it is to be physically active. With childhood obesity rates in the community among the highest in the city, and school physical education programs being slashed through cuts to education funding, few options remain for children to be active on their own.
On this day, students will receive mini-clinics on numerous track and field activities, and compete against their peers. These activities will be conducted by the New York Road Runners.
This promises to be an exciting day, and I encourage everyone from the community to attend and cheer on our young athletes as they learn how fun it is to be active.
