Senator Addabbo Hosts Free Painting Party For Seniors 60+

Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. will be hosting a painting party for seniors aged 60 and older where they will have the opportunity to paint their own artwork, which they can then keep. The attendees will follow along with an art instructor and using water-based acrylic paints create a landscape and / or floral style painting.

“It is appropriate to have this event in August since it is American Artist Appreciation Month,” Addabbo said. “Plus, the joy and relaxation of painting is a great activity at any age, but on this occasion, we are inviting seniors to participate.”

The event is completely free, with instructions and all supplies including brushes, canvases, paint, and easels provided by Frances O. Scarantino, Owner of Reach for the Stars. The painting process can get a little messy, so it is advised that the seniors bring a smock or apron to wear or an old T-shirt that they don’t mind getting dirty.

This event is open to seniors from Senator Addabbo’s district only, and anyone who wishes to attend must call his District Office to RSVP at 718-738-1111. There is limited space, so register quickly to reserve a spot.
