State Senator Kevin Parker, in partnership with Sons of Kings Lodge #123 and Vanderveer Park United Methodist Church Health Ministry, invites community members to the 8th Annual Edward Swire Memorial Blood Drive in recognition of National Sickle Cell Awareness Month.
The blood drive will take place on Saturday, September 12, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Flatbush YMCA. Community members who are eligible to donate are encouraged to participate and help support New York’s blood supply.
Appointments are preferred, though walk-ins will be welcomed as space permits. Donors should eat well, stay hydrated, bring a photo ID, and be feeling well and symptom-free on the day of donation.
The event is free and open to the public.
To schedule an appointment, visit the New York Blood Center donor portal and search for this blood drive using your ZIP code.
For additional information, call 1-800-933-BLOOD or Senator Parker’s District Office at (718) 629-6401.
