Senator May Offers Opening Remarks at Rural Schools Association's 2023 Summer Conference

Cooperstown, NY – Legislative Commission on Rural Resources Chair Senator Rachel May (D-48th District) offered opening remarks on Sunday, July 9 at the Welcome Dinner for the Rural Schools Association's 2023 Summer Conference.
Kicking off the conference, Senator May discussed the important role that schools play as the center of our rural communities and how they are poised to lead those communities into the future. She also highlighted the work that the Legislative Commission on Rural Resources has done in issues revolving around education and other related fields.
In addition to speaking, Senator May also got a chance to talk with groups tabling at the conference, including the National FFA Organization.
The RSA's 2023 Summer Conference took place from July 9-11 at the Otesaga Resort Hotel in Cooperstown. This year's theme was "Rebuilding the Rural Reality: From the Middle of Nowhere to the Heart of Everything."
The organization holds a conference in the summer each year and will be hosting its 2023 Winter Conference in Saratoga Springs from November 30-December 1.
