Press Conference: Senator Montgomery to Announce Launch of EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL INITIATIVE In Brooklyn

An announcement of the Early College High School Initiative will be made on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Long Island University Brooklyn Campus, Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts (located on Flatbush Avenue Between DeKalb Avenue and Willoughby Street).  

The Early College High School Initiative blends high school and college in a rigorous yet supportive program, offering students the opportunity to simultaneously pursue a high school diploma and earn up to two years of college credits. The program is made possible by a generous contribution from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, with matching funds provided by the State.

The partnering Brooklyn universities and high schools are Boys & Girls High School w/Long Island University; Medgar Evers Prep w/Medgar Evers College; Pathways in Technology w/NYC College of Technology and City Polytechnic High School w/NYC College of Technology.
