SFY 2018-19 JOINT LEGISLATIVE BUDGET HEARING

Senate Finance Committee Chair Catharine M. Young and Assembly Ways and Means Committee Chair Helene E. Weinstein will hold the fourth hearing, in a series of 13 hearings, on the 2018-2019 Executive Budget on Thursday, January 25th, at 9:30 a.m. in Hearing Room B of the Legislative Office Building, Albany.
During the Transportation Hearing, government officials and representatives of various transportation advocacy groups will provide testimony to the Senate and Assembly fiscal committees.
These joint hearings will continue through February 13th and will be available for viewing on the Senate and Assembly websites. The Legislative Channel (on cable systems throughout the state) also will carry the proceedings, which will be preempted when the houses are in session. At the conclusion of the legislative deliberations, the channel will resume televised coverage of the hearings.
Scheduled to provide testimony are Metropolitan Transportation Authority Chairman Joseph J. Lhota, Managing Director Veronique Hakim, and Chief Financial Officer Robert Foran; New York State Department of Transportation Acting Commissioner Paul Karas; New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Executive Deputy Commissioner Theresa Egan; and New York State Thruway Authority Acting Executive Director Matthew Driscoll.
Testimony also will be provided by New York State Association of Town Superintendents of Highways President Bernhard Meyer and New York State County Highway Superintendents Association Legislative Committee Co-Chair Wayne Bonesteel, AAA of New York State Government Relations Liaison Alec Slatky, and Railroads of New York Inc. Executive Director Scott Wigger.
Others providing testimony include New York Aviation Management Association Deputy Director Lee Weitz, Committee for Taxi Safety President David L. Beier, New York State Telecommunications Association President Robert Puckett, and New York Public Transit Association President William Carpenter.
