Senate Finance Committee Chair Liz Krueger and Assembly Ways and Means Committee Chair Helene E. Weinstein will hold the fifth hearing in a series of 13 hearings on the 2019-20 Executive Budget on Wednesday, January 30th, at 9:30 a.m. in Hearing Room B of the Legislative Office Building, Albany.
During the Transportation Hearing, government officials and representatives of various transportation advocacy groups will provide testimony to the Senate and Assembly fiscal committees.
These joint hearings will continue through February 12th and will be available for viewing on the Senate and Assembly websites. The Legislative Channel (on cable systems throughout the state) also will carry the proceedings, which will be preempted when the houses are in session. At the conclusion of the legislative deliberations, the channel will resume televised coverage of the hearings.
Scheduled to provide testimony are Metropolitan Transportation Authority President Patrick Foye, Managing Director Veronique Hakim, Chief Financial Officer Robert Foran, and Chief Development Officer Janno Lieber; New York State Department of Transportation Acting Commissioner Paul Karas; New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Executive Deputy Commissioner Theresa Egan; and New York State Thruway Authority Acting Executive Director Matthew Driscoll.
Testimony also will be provided by New York State Association of Town Superintendents of Highways President Patrick Mahar, New York State County Highway Superintendents Association President Dennis Davis, AAA of New York State Government Affairs Representative Lauren Paterno, and Railroads of New York Inc. Executive Director Scott Wigger.
Others providing testimony include New York Aviation Management Association Past President Jeremy Martelle, CM, ACE, ASC; New York State Telecommunications Association President Robert Puckett; and New York Public Transit Association President William Carpenter.
