AN ACT to amend chapter 707 of the laws of 2004 creating a temporary New
  York state French  and  Indian  war  250th  anniversary  commemoration
  commission, in relation to extending the expiration and repeal of such
  provisions

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. The opening paragraph of section 1 of chapter  707  of  the
laws  of  2004 creating a temporary New York state French and Indian war
250th  anniversary  commemoration  commission  is  amended  to  read  as
follows:
  The  legislature hereby finds and declares there is a need to create a
New York state French and Indian  war  250th  anniversary  commemoration
commission to promote the 250th anniversary of the French and Indian war
which  will  take  place  between  the years 2005 and [2010] 2013.   The
primary focus of the New York state French and Indian war 250th anniver-
sary commemoration commission will be to plan and execute  an  organized
series  of French and Indian war reenactment tourism events. The tourism
events will highlight the following  key  sites:  the  Lake  George/Fort
George  area  in 2005; Fort Bull/Fort Stanwix and Fort Ontario/Oswego in
2006; Fort William Henry/Lake George in 2007; Fort  Carillon/Ticonderoga
in  2008;  Fort  Niagara  in 2009 and Fort La Presentation/Fort Levis in
2010.
  S 2. Paragraph a of subdivision 1 of section 3 of chapter 707  of  the
laws  of  2004 creating a temporary New York state French and Indian war
250th  anniversary  commemoration  commission  is  amended  to  read  as
follows:
  a.  To  coordinate  the  commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the
French and Indian war for the years 2005 through [2010] 2013;
  S 3.  Section 7 of chapter 707 of the laws of 2004 creating  a  tempo-
rary  New  York  state  French  and Indian war 250th anniversary commem-
oration commission is amended to read as follows:
  S 7. The commission shall continue in  existence  until  December  31,
[2010] 2014, at which time it shall be deemed to be repealed.
  S 4.  This act shall take effect immediately.
