  read once and referred to the Committee on  Corporations,  Authorities
  and Commissions

AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to requiring the
  metropolitan transportation authority to hold hearings in each borough
  on  separate days before any proposed changes in services or fares are
  implemented

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Section  1263 of the public authorities law is amended by
adding a new subdivision 10 to read as follows:
  10. THE AUTHORITY SHALL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING IN EACH BOROUGH  OF  THE
CITY  OF  NEW  YORK BEFORE ANY PROPOSED CHANGES IN SERVICES OR FARES CAN
TAKE EFFECT; PROVIDED, HOWEVER,  THAT  SUCH  PUBLIC  HEARINGS  SHALL  BE
LIMITED TO ONE HEARING PER CALENDAR DAY.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 1263 of the public authorities law  is  amended  by

SERVICES AND FARES, BEFORE ANY PROPOSED CHANGES IN SERVICES OR FARES CAN
TAKE EFFECT; PROVIDED, HOWEVER,  THAT  SUCH  PUBLIC  HEARINGS  SHALL  BE
LIMITED TO ONE HEARING PER CALENDAR DAY.
