AN ACT to amend the county law, in relation to the publication of  local
  laws and notices

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 214 of the county law is amended by  adding  a  new
subdivision 4 to read as follows:
  4.  USE  OF INTERNET. NOTWITHSTANDING THE REQUIREMENTS OF SUBDIVISIONS
ONE AND TWO OF THIS SECTION, THE PUBLICATION OF CONCURRENT  RESOLUTIONS,
ELECTION  NOTICES,  OFFICIAL CANVASS, LOCAL LAWS AND NOTICES SHALL APPLY
EXCEPT THAT THE TEXT OF SUCH PUBLICATION SHALL BE LIMITED  TO  A  PUBLIC
NOTICE  OF  COUNTY  LEGISLATIVE  ACTION,  WHICH  SHALL  INCLUDE  A BRIEF
DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTION TAKEN AND REFER THE READER TO THE  ADDRESS  OF
THE  COUNTY  INTERNET  WEBSITE  FOR  THE  FULL  TEXT OF SUCH RESOLUTION,
NOTICE, CANVASS OR LOCAL LAW.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the first of January next  succeed-
ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
