AN  ACT  to amend the education law, in relation to extending the school
  year to one hundred ninety school days exclusive of legal holidays

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1. Paragraph a of subdivision 4 of section 3204 of the educa-
tion law is amended to read as follows:
  a. A full time day school or class, except  as  otherwise  prescribed,
shall be in session for not less than one hundred ninety days each year,
[inclusive]  EXCLUSIVE  of  legal holidays that occur during the term of
said school and exclusive of Saturdays AND SUNDAYS, WITH THE SCHOOL YEAR
COMMENCING ON THE LAST MONDAY OF AUGUST.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to extending  the  school
  year to two hundred school days exclusive of legal holidays

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
