BARRA, JAFFEE, KOON, RAIA, SWEENEY -- read once and referred to the Committee on Tourism, Arts and Sports Development AN ACT to amend the parks, recreation and historic preservation law, in relation to free passes for senior citizens THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The opening paragraph of section 13.19 of the parks, recre- ation and historic preservation law is designated subdivision 1 and a new subdivision 2 is added to read as follows: 2. THE COMMISSIONER SHALL ESTABLISH A PROGRAM WHEREBY SENIOR CITIZENS, UPON PROOF OF AGE SIXTY-TWO OR OLDER, SHALL BE ISSUED ANNUAL PASSES AT NO COST FOR DAILY PARKING, INCLUDING WEEKENDS, AT STATE PARK FACILITIES. S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after it shall have become a law. The commissioner of parks, recreation and historic preservation shall immediately promulgate rules and regulations to effectuate a program of free parking for seniors.
