Provides for reduced fare tokens (80% of regular rate) for residents of Nassau county for use of the Triborough, Bronx-Whitestone, Throgs Neck and Verrazano-Narrows bridges operated by the Triborough bridge and tunnel authority upon approval by bond and note holders of such authority and subject to regulation for usage by the authority.

AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation  to  authorizing
  reduced fare tokens for residents of Nassau county over certain bridg-
  es operated by the Triborough bridge and tunnel authority

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. The public authorities law  is  amended  by  adding  a  new
section 553-j to read as follows:
  S  553-J.  TOKENS; NASSAU COUNTY RESIDENTS. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY INCON-
SISTENT PROVISION OF LAW, BUT SUBJECT TO AGREEMENTS WITH NOTEHOLDERS AND
BONDHOLDERS, THE AUTHORITY SHALL OFFER FOR SALE TOKENS WITH  RESPECT  TO
RESIDENTS  OF THE COUNTY OF NASSAU AND MAY, EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED
HEREIN, REGULATE THE USE THEREOF. TOKENS FOR RESIDENTS OF THE COUNTY  OF
NASSAU  SHALL  ENTITLE  THE  PURCHASER TO CROSSINGS OVER THE TRIBOROUGH,
BRONX-WHITESTONE,  THROGS  NECK,  AND  VERRAZANO-NARROWS  BRIDGES  AT  A
REDUCED  COST  OF EIGHTY PER CENTUM OF THE REGULAR CROSSING FARE IMPOSED
ON NONRESIDENTS OF THE COUNTY OF NASSAU.   APPLICATION FOR  SUCH  TOKENS
SHALL  BE  MADE  IN SUCH MANNER AS PRESCRIBED BY THE AUTHORITY AND SHALL
CONTAIN SUCH INFORMATION AS THE AUTHORITY MAY REASONABLY REQUIRE.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day  after  it  shall
have become a law.
