BILL NUMBER: S2230 TITLE OF BILL : An act to authorize approval of a certain transportation contract of the Whitehall central school district PURPOSE : To legalize, validate, ratify and confirm actions taken by the Whitehall Central School District relating to or in connection with a certain transportation contract for the 2007-2008 school year, which provided transportation to and from the New York State School for the Blind in Batavia. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : Section one - legalizes, validates, ratifies and confirms actions taken by the Whitehall Central School District relating to or in connection with a certain transportation contract for the 2007-2008 school year, which provided transportation to and from the New York State School for the Blind in Batavia Section two - the education department is hereby directed to consider the aforementioned contract for transportation aid as valid and proper obligations of the Whitehall central school district Section three - contains the effective date.

JORDAN -- read once and referred to the Committee on Education -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to authorize approval of a certain transportation contract of the Whitehall central school district THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. All acts done and proceedings heretofore had and taken or caused to be had and taken by the Whitehall central school district and by all officers, employees and agents of such school district relating to or in connection with transportation contract number C260112 for the 2007-2008 school year, which provided transportation to and from the New York state school for the blind in Batavia, and all acts incidental thereto are hereby legalized, validated, ratified and confirmed, notwithstanding any failure to comply with the contract award, award, approval and filing provisions of the education law, the general munici- pal law, any other law or any other statutory authority, rule or regu- lation, other than those filing provisions defined in paragraph a of subdivision 5 of section 3604 of the education law, in relation to any omission, error, defect, irregularity or illegality in such proceedings had or taken. S 2. The education department is hereby directed to consider the aforementioned contract for transportation aid as valid and proper obli- gations of the Whitehall central school district. S 3. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD01270-02-9
