BILL NUMBER: S7636 TITLE OF BILL : An act in relation to dissolving the Corning Urban Renewal Agency, and to repeal title 79 of article 15-B of the general municipal law relating thereto PURPOSE : To dissolve the Corning Urban Renewal Agency. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : Section 1 of the bill repeals Title 79 of article 15-B of the general municipal law. Section 2 of the bill transfers the powers, duties, and unfinished business of the Corning Urban Renewal Agency to the City of Corning in Steuben County. All assets, liabilities, and records of the Corning Urban Renewal Agency are also transferred to the City of Corning under this section. Section 3 of the bill provides for an immediate effective date. JUSTIFICATION : The Corning Urban Renewal Agency has had little or no activity in recent years. BACALLES -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments AN ACT in relation to dissolving the Corning Urban Renewal Agency, and to repeal title 79 of article 15-B of the general municipal law relat- ing thereto THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Title 79 of article 15-B of the general municipal law is REPEALED. S 2. The powers, duties and unfinished business of the Corning Urban Renewal Agency are transferred to the city of Corning, county of Steu- ben. All assets, liabilities and records of the Corning Urban Renewal Agency are transferred to such city. For the purpose of succession to functions, powers, duties and obligations transferred and assigned to, devolved upon and assumed by it pursuant to this act, such city shall be deemed and held to constitute the continuation of the Corning Urban Renewal Agency.
