TITLE OF BILL:
An act
in relation to authorizing the comptroller to deposit funds generated by
park fees into the environmental protection fund
PURPOSE:
This bill would authorize the Director of the Division of Budget to
transfer fifty percent of revenue generated by OPRMP above the total
receipts generated in the 2009-2010 State Fiscal Year (SFY) by park
user fees, greens fees, cabin rental, parking fees and all other
revenues associated with park operations to the Environmental
Protection Fund for the purpose of repaying the amount borrowed to
keep parks and historic sites operations during SPY 2010-2011
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1 authorizes the Director of the Division of Budget to
transfer fifty percent of the revenue generated above the amount
generated by park operations during State Fiscal Year 2009-2010 into
the Environmental Protection Fund.
Section 2 provides for an immediate effective date. Currently, New
York State is home to 179 State Parks and 35 Historic Sites that
traditionally receive about 55 million visitors per year.

AN ACT in relation to authorizing the comptroller to deposit funds
generated by park fees into the environmental protection fund
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, the comp-
troller, at the direction of the director of the division of budget, is
hereby authorized to deposit to the credit of the environmental
protection fund fifty percent of any amount generated by the office of
parks, recreation and historic preservation above the total receipts
generated by park user fees, greens fees, cabin rentals, parking fees,
and all other park operations revenue sources during the two thousand
nine--two thousand ten state fiscal year, until the amount borrowed to
keep the parks open is fully repaid.
S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
