TITLE OF BILL:
An act in relation to dissolving the Corning Housing Authority; and to
repeal title 24 of article 13 of the public housing law relating thereto
PURPOSE:
To dissolve the Corning Housing Authority.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1 of the bill repeals Title 24 of Article 13 of the public hous-
ing law.
Section 2 of the bill transfers the powers, duties, and unfinished busi-
ness of the Coming Housing Authority to the City of Coming in Steuben
County. All assets, liabilities, and records of the Coming Housing
Authority are also transferred to the City of Coming under this section.
Section 3 of the bill provides for an immediate effective date.
JUSTIFICATION:
The Corning Housing Authority has had no activity in recent years. The
City Council of the City of Corning has determined that those functions
previously provided by the Corning Housing Authority can be provided
through municipal departments and other outside agencies.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Title 24 of article 13 of the public housing law is
REPEALED.
S 2. The powers, duties and unfinished business of the Corning Housing
Authority are transferred to the city of Corning, county of Steuben. All
assets, liabilities and records of the Corning Housing Authority are
transferred to such city. For the purpose of succession to functions,
powers, duties and obligations transferred and assigned to, devolved
upon and assumed by it pursuant to this act, such city shall be deemed
and held to constitute the continuation of the Corning Housing Authori-
ty.
S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
