AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to  distribution
  utility

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 1891  of  the  public  authorities
law,  as added by chapter 487 of the laws of 2009, is amended to read as
follows:
  4. "Distribution  utility"  means  any  gas  or  electric  corporation
providing gas or electricity to end use consumers that is a public util-
ity company, including a municipality, A RURAL ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE or a
public  utility  authority  organized  pursuant  to article five of this
chapter.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
