AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to directing the division
  of criminal justice services  to  identify  non-profit  agencies  that
  provide LGBT sensitivity training

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 837 of the executive law is amended by adding a new
subdivision 19 to read as follows:
  19. IDENTIFY NON-PROFIT AGENCIES  THAT  CONTRACT  WITH  THE  STATE  TO
PROVIDE SENSITIVITY TRAINING TO EMPLOYEES THAT TEACH THEM HOW TO PROPER-
LY IDENTIFY LESBIAN, GAY, BI-SEXUAL AND TRANSGENDER CRIME VICTIMS AND TO
INVESTIGATE  THE  NATURE  OF  ANY  BIAS  CRIMES  COMMITTED AGAINST THESE
VICTIMS. A LIST OF AGENCIES THAT PROVIDES THIS TRAINING,  THEIR  CONTACT
INFORMATION AND THE COST OF THE TRAINING SHALL BE CONTAINED IN A CENTRAL
DATABASE AND MADE AVAILABLE TO LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENTS.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
