AN ACT to amend the executive law, in  relation  to  the  definition  of
  caregiver  for  the purpose of obtaining the criminal history informa-
  tion of such person
  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
  Section  1.  Paragraph  (a)  of  subdivision 1 of section 837-n of the
executive law, as added by chapter 3 of the laws of 1998, is amended  to
read as follows:
  (a)  "Caregiver"  shall  mean  a person employed to provide fifteen or
more hours of care per week to a child or children, SENIOR  OR  SENIORS,
OR PERSON OR PERSONS HAVING AN ILLNESS OR DISABILITY in the home of such
a  child  or children, SENIOR OR SENIORS, OR PERSON OR PERSONS HAVING AN
ILLNESS OR DISABILITY.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
have become a law.
