RABBITT -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Governmental Employees AN ACT to authorize the village of Greenwood Lake in Orange county to appoint Alexander Nicholas to a full-time competitive police officer position THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil service law, the village of Greenwood Lake in Orange county is hereby authorized and directed, upon the approval of the village board of trus- tees, to appoint Alexander Nicholas, who is currently a part-time police officer for the village of Greenwood Lake police department, to a full- time competitive position as a police officer with the police department of such village, provided that there exists no other viable applicant on the eligible list. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD02784-01-9
