REILLY -- read once and referred to the Committee on Agriculture AN ACT to amend the agriculture and markets law, in relation to prohib- iting gelatin and gelatin by-products from being used in animal commercial feed THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 1 of section 132 of the agriculture and markets law is amended by adding a new paragraph (f) to read as follows: (F) IT BEARS OR CONTAINS ANY GELATIN OR GELATIN BY-PRODUCT. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS PARAGRAPH, "GELATIN" MEANS A COLORLESS OR SLIGHTLY YELLOW, TRANSPARENT, BRITTLE PROTEIN FORMED BY BOILING THE SPECIALLY PREPARED SKIN, BONES, AND CONNECTIVE TISSUE OF ANIMALS. S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after it shall have become a law.
