WRIGHT -- read once and referred to the Committee on Agriculture AN ACT to amend the agriculture and markets law, in relation to requir- ing milk produced by cows fed, injected with or administered growth hormones to be labeled as such THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The agriculture and markets law is amended by adding a new section 64 to read as follows: S 64. MILK PRODUCED BY COWS ADMINISTERED GROWTH HORMONES. NO PERSON PACKAGING MILK WITH INTENT TO SELL SUCH PRODUCT, WHEN ANY PORTION OF SUCH MILK WAS PRODUCED BY COWS FED, INJECTED WITH OR IN ANY WAY ADMINIS- TERED ANY GROWTH HORMONE, SHALL SELL SUCH MILK UNLESS THE PACKAGING IS LABELED, "THIS MILK WAS PRODUCED BY COWS ADMINISTERED GROWTH HORMONES". S 2. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
