ZEBROWSKI -- read once and referred to the Committee on Judiciary AN ACT to amend the family court act, in relation to the number of fami- ly court judges of Rockland County THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision (k) of section 131 of the family court act, as added by chapter 158 of the laws of 1971, is amended to read as follows: (k) In the county of Rockland there shall be [one] TWO additional family court [judge] JUDGES and the number of such judges now existing is hereby increased accordingly. The compensation of [the] EACH SUCH additional family court judge shall be the same as the existing family court judge in such county. S 2. This act shall take effect August 1, 2009; provided however that the additional family court judge provided for by section one of this act shall first be elected at the general election to be held in Novem- ber 2009 and shall first take office January 1, 2010.
