AN ACT to amend the agriculture and markets law, in relation to labeling
  prepared perishable foods sold primarily for off-premises consumption

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 16 of the agriculture and markets law is amended by
adding a new subdivision 44 to read as follows:
  44. ADOPT RULES AND REGULATIONS REQUIRING FOOD STORES SELLING PREPARED
PERISHABLE FOODS PRIMARILY FOR OFF-PREMISES CONSUMPTION TO CLEARLY LABEL
EACH SUCH FOOD ITEM WITH THE DATE OF PREPARATION THEREOF.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
