AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to  the  travel
  of vehicles with certain weight and dimension limitations

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Subdivision 16 of section 385 of the  vehicle  and  traffic
law is amended by adding a new paragraph (v) to read as follows:
  (V) WITHIN A DISTANCE OF 4.5 MILES MEASURED ALONG NEW YORK STATE ROUTE
400,  SUCH DISTANCE TO BE MEASURED FROM THE POINT WHERE ROUTE 400 INTER-
SECTS WITH THE NEW YORK STATE THRUWAY, AND  1.4  MILES  ALONG  NEW  YORK
STATE  ROUTE  78,  SUCH  DISTANCE TO BE MEASURED FROM A POINT WHERE SUCH
ROUTE 78 INTERSECTS WITH NEW YORK STATE ROUTE 400.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
