AN ACT in relation to authorizing the commissioner of transportation  to
  conduct  a study of the feasibility of constructing an additional exit
  along the New York state thruway in North Chittenango

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  The  commissioner of transportation, in consultation with
the chairman of the New York state thruway authority, is hereby  author-
ized and directed to conduct a comprehensive study on the feasibility of
constructing an additional exit along the New York state thruway between
exits 34 and 34A in North Chittenango. Such study shall include, but not
be limited to:
  1.  current  flow and volume of traffic along the thruway between such
exits;
  2. current flow and volume of traffic along local roads in the vicini-
ty of such exits, including the state route 5 corridor;
  3. projected impact of an additional exit in North Chittenango on  the
current flow and volume of traffic along the thruway between such exits;
  4.  projected impact of an additional exit in North Chittenango on the
current flow and volume of traffic along local roads in the vicinity  of
such exits, including the state route 5 corridor;
  5. potential environmental impact of an additional exit in North Chit-
tenango on the area surrounding such exits;
  6. potential economic impact of an additional exit in North Chittenan-
go on localities surrounding such exits;
  7.  possible  design  and route alternatives for an additional exit in
North Chittenango;
  8. the projected costs for the construction of an additional  exit  in
North Chittenango;
