AN ACT to create the community college and board of  cooperative  educa-
  tional services partnership act

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. This act shall be known and may be cited as the  "community
college and board of cooperative educational services partnership act".
  S  2. The state university of New York and the department of education
are hereby authorized and directed  to  create  a  high  technology  job
training  program  to  explore  the feasibility and benefits of building
educational partnerships between community colleges and boards of  coop-
erative  educational  services  to assist students in meeting qualifica-
tions for employment in the high technology sector.  1.    Participating
community  colleges  shall  receive  capital  grants for high technology
equipment to assist in job training for students attending  a  board  of
cooperative educational services program.
  2. Participating community colleges and boards of educational services
shall be selected from applications submitted to the state university of
New York. Applications for participation shall be developed by the state
university of New York and shall require applicants to submit a proposal
describing:
  (a)  how the partnership shall be formed between the community college
and board of cooperative educational services; and
  (b) how the high technology equipment  will  be  integrated  into  the
community college setting; and
  (c)  how  the high technology equipment will assist students attending
boards of cooperative educational services in meeting job  requirements.
Community college and board of cooperative educational services partner-
ships  that  are  selected for participation shall receive the necessary
