AN  ACT  to  amend  the  social services law, in relation to restricting
  certain medications from coverage for medicaid purposes for sex offen-
  ders and requiring inscription codes on such sex  offender's  medicaid
  card

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 366-a of the social  services  law  is  amended  by
adding a new subdivision 11 to read as follows:
  11.  NOTWITHSTANDING  ANY  LAW  TO  THE CONTRARY, UPON RECEIPT OF SUCH
APPLICATION FOR ASSISTANCE FOR SEXUAL ENHANCEMENT DRUGS, THE APPROPRIATE
SOCIAL SERVICES OFFICIAL, PUBLIC WELFARE OFFICIAL OR THE  DEPARTMENT  OF
HEALTH  OR  ITS  AGENT  SHALL  IDENTIFY  WHETHER SUCH APPLICANT IS A SEX
OFFENDER  REQUIRED  TO  REGISTER  PURSUANT  TO  ARTICLE  SIX-C  OF   THE
CORRECTION  LAW,  AND  IF  SUCH SEX OFFENDER IS REQUIRED TO REGISTER, AN
INSCRIPTION CODE IDENTIFYING SUCH SEX OFFENDER'S STATUS SHALL BE  PLACED
ON SUCH SEX OFFENDER'S MEDICAID CARDS.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
