AN ACT appropriating funds for a new state skills compact course program

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1. For aid for costs associated with establishing a new state
skills compact course program designed to provide  one  hundred  percent
state  assistance  for  the cost of providing community college training
and re-training courses for workers who are affected by the  downsizing,
closure or relocation of regional employers, an additional apportionment
of  two million dollars ($2,000,000) is hereby appropriated to the State
University of New York under  Community  College  Operating  Assistance,
Local Assistance Account, from the General Fund.
  S  2.  Such  moneys  shall  be payable on the audit and warrant of the
state comptroller on  vouchers  certified  or  approved  in  the  manner
provided by law.
  S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
