AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to correction facili-
  ties medical care personnel

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Subdivision 5-a of section 2961 of the public  health  law,
as  added  by  chapter  577  of  the laws of 1993, is amended to read as
follows:
  5-a. "Correctional facilities medical care personnel" means  personnel
engaged  in  providing  health  care at correctional facilities OR LOCAL
CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES, as [that  term  is]  SUCH  TERMS  ARE  defined,
RESPECTIVELY,  in  subdivision  four  AND  PARAGRAPH  (A) OF SUBDIVISION
SIXTEEN of section two of the correction law.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
