2009-A3741 (ACTIVE) - Summary

Provides that the salaries of the chairman and the remaining commissioners of the temporary state commission of investigation shall be fixed as prescribed in executive law 169(1)(b) for certain state commissioners, and 169(1)(d) for certain state officers, respectively (replaces provisions providing for an annual salary of $15,000, plus actual and necessary expenses, for each member of the commission).

AN  ACT to amend chapter 989 of the laws of 1958, relating to creating a
  temporary state commission of investigation, in relation  to  salaries
  of commissioners

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 1 of chapter 989 of  the  laws  of
1958,  relating  to  creating  a  temporary state commission of investi-
gation, as added by chapter 95 of the laws of 2001, is amended  to  read
as follows:
  4.  The  basic  annual  salary of the chair of the commission shall be
equal to the salary of the state officers indicated in  paragraph  [(d)]
(B)  of  subdivision 1 of section 169 of the executive law and the basic
annual salaries of the remaining commissioners shall  be  equal  to  the
salary  of  the  state officers indicated in paragraph [(e)] (D) of such
subdivision. Each commissioner shall also be entitled to expenses  actu-
ally  and necessarily incurred in the performance of his or her official
duties, including expenses of travel outside the state.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately, provided,  however,  that
the  amendments to subdivision 4 of section 1 of chapter 989 of the laws
of 1958 made by section one of this act shall not affect the  expiration
of such section and shall be deemed to expire therewith.
