AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to service  award
  program points for certain courses taken by volunteer firefighters and
  volunteer ambulance workers

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Subparagraph (D) of paragraph (i)  of  subdivision  (c)  of
section 217 of the general municipal law, as added by chapter 514 of the
laws of 2003, is amended to read as follows:
  (D)  Courses  over  one hundred hours duration -- [twenty-five] THIRTY
points per course.
  S 2. Paragraph (a) of subdivision 3 of section 219-e  of  the  general
municipal  law  is  amended by adding a new subparagraph (iv) to read as
follows:
  (IV) COURSES OVER ONE HUNDRED HOURS  DURATION  --  THIRTY  POINTS  PER
COURSE.
  S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
