AN ACT to amend the  environmental  conservation  law,  in  relation  to
  permitting certain advertising in the Adirondack park

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 9-0305 of the  environmental  conservation  law  is
amended by adding a new subdivision 1-a to read as follows:
  1-A.  NOTWITHSTANDING  THE  PROVISIONS  OF  SUBDIVISION  ONE  OF  THIS
SECTION, INFORMATIONAL KIOSKS, OF A  SIZE  AND  SHAPE  APPROVED  BY  THE
DEPARTMENT AND THE ADIRONDACK PARK AGENCY, WHICH INDICATE THE AVAILABIL-
ITY  OF  FUEL,  FOOD,  LODGING,  VISITOR INFORMATION AND THE LOCATION OF
PUBLIC LANDS AND FACILITIES MAY BE ERECTED  AND  MAINTAINED  WITHIN  THE
BOUNDARIES  OF  THE  ADIRONDACK PARK AT REST AREAS AND DESIGNATED INTER-
CHANGES OF INTERSTATE 87, THE ADIRONDACK NORTHWAY, AT LOCATIONS APPROVED
BY THE NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
