TOWNS, ALFANO, GABRYSZAK -- Multi-Sponsored by -- M. of A. BRENNAN -- read once and referred to the Committee on Trans- portation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to requiring school buses to be equipped with back up beepers THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 21-d of section 375 of the vehicle and traffic law, as added by chapter 351 of the laws of 1988, is amended to read as follows: 21-d. The commissioner shall promulgate rules and regulations [for] REQUIRING the INSTALLATION AND use of back up beepers on school buses. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD01924-01-9
