Directs the office of temporary and disability assistance to prepare and distribute a booklet or pamphlet advising the public of their rights and liabilities and of procedures in spousal and child support cases; provides that the booklet or pamphlet shall be distributed to family courts throughout the state.

AN  ACT  to  amend the social services law, in relation to directing the
  office of temporary and disability assistance  to  prepare  a  booklet
  advising parties in support proceedings of their rights and the proce-
  dures involved in such cases

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 111-b of the social  services  law  is  amended  by
adding a new subdivision 2-b to read as follows:
  2-B. THE OFFICE OF TEMPORARY AND DISABILITY ASSISTANCE SHALL PREPARE A
BOOKLET,  PAMPHLET  OR OTHER COMPILATION OF INFORMATION ADVISING PARTIES
IN SPOUSAL AND  CHILD  SUPPORT  PROCEEDINGS  OF  THE  PROCEDURES  TO  BE
FOLLOWED IN ESTABLISHING AND/OR ENFORCING SUPPORT OBLIGATIONS AS WELL AS
THE  RIGHTS  AND  LIABILITIES  OF  THE PARTIES IN SUCH PROCEEDINGS. SUCH
OFFICE SHALL DISTRIBUTE SUCH BOOKLET, PAMPHLET OR OTHER  COMPILATION  OF
INFORMATION  TO  FAMILY  COURTS THROUGHOUT THE STATE FOR DISTRIBUTION TO
PARTIES IN SUPPORT PROCEEDINGS.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
