MORELLE -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Education AN ACT to amend chapter 748 of the laws of 2006 enacting Timothy's law, in relation to extending the provisions of such law THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 8 of chapter 748 of the laws of 2006 enacting Timothy's law is amended to read as follows: S 8. This act shall take effect on the first of January next succeed- ing the date on which it shall have become a law and shall expire and be deemed repealed December 31, [2009] 2010; and the provisions of this act shall apply to policies and contracts issued, renewed, modified, altered or amended on or after such effective date. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD09255-01-9
