2009-A5525 (ACTIVE) - Summary

Requires the name, address and other particulars of identification, ownership or control contained in registration statements filed by owners of multiple dwellings to be kept current by requiring filings of any changes in such information with the city department and state division of housing and community renewal; provides that whenever an address of an owner, listed officer, lessee of an entire multiple dwelling or managing agent is required to be included in the notice, registration statement or amended registration statement in cities with a population of one million or more, a street name and number for such address shall be provided.

AN ACT to amend the multiple dwelling law, in  relation  to  changes  of
  name, address, telephone number and other particulars of present owner
  of a building for purposes of enforcement of housing maintenance code,
  city  rent  and rehabilitation law and rent stabilization law of nine-
  teen hundred sixty-nine

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1. Subdivision 1 of section 325 of the multiple dwelling law,
as amended by chapter 805 of the laws of 1984, is  amended  to  read  as
follows:
  1.  Every owner of a multiple dwelling, every lessee of a whole dwell-
ing and every agent or other person having control of such  a  dwelling,
shall  file  in  the  department  a  notice  containing his OR HER name,
address and a description of the premises, by street  number  or  other-
wise,  and the class and kind of the dwelling thereon, in such manner as
will enable the department to find the same;  and  also  the  number  of
apartments  and rooms in each apartment on each story, and the number of
families occupying the apartments. If such owner or lessee be  a  corpo-
ration,  other  than a banking organization as defined in section two of
the banking law, a national banking association, a federal  savings  and
loan  association,  The  Mortgage  Facilities Corporation, Savings Banks
Life Insurance Fund, The Savings Banks Retirement System, an  authorized
insurer as defined in section one hundred seven of the insurance law, or
a  trust  company  or other corporation organized under the laws of this
state all the capital stock of which is owned by at least twenty savings
banks or a subsidiary corporation all of the capital stock of  which  is
owned  by  such  trust company or other corporation, the names and resi-
dence addresses of its officers shall also be contained in such  notice.
