AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to certain rates
  charged veterans' organizations by the Long Island power authority

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Section 1020-s of the public authorities law, as added by
chapter 517 of the laws of 1986, is amended by adding a new  subdivision
1-a to read as follows:
  1-A.  THE AUTHORITY SHALL NOT CHARGE, DEMAND, COLLECT, OR RECEIVE FROM
ANY POST OR HALL OWNED OR LEASED BY A NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION THAT IS
A VETERANS' ORGANIZATION FOR ANY GAS OR ELECTRIC SERVICE UTILIZED EXCLU-
SIVELY IN CONNECTION WITH SUCH VETERANS' ORGANIZATION GREATER  THAN  THE
RATES  CHARGED,  DEMANDED,  COLLECTED, OR RECEIVED BY THE AUTHORITY FROM
DOMESTIC  CUSTOMERS  RECEIVING  SINGLE-PHASE  SERVICE  WITHIN  THE  SAME
VILLAGE, TOWN, OR MUNICIPALITY.
  S  2. No revenues foregone by the authority, as a result of subjecting
certain veterans' organizations with  rates  or  charges  applicable  to
domestic  customers,  shall  be  recoverable from other customers of the
authority.
  S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
