BALL, MENG, TOBACCO, P. LOPEZ, WALKER -- Multi- Sponsored by -- M. of A. MOLINARO -- read once and referred to the Committee on Real Property Taxation AN ACT to amend the real property tax law, in relation to school tax relief (STAR) exemptions for senior citizens THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 425 of the real property tax law is amended by adding a new paragraph (d) to read as follows: (D) ONE HUNDRED PERCENT EXEMPTION. THE ENHANCED EXEMPTION FOR PROPERTY OWNED BY SENIOR CITIZENS WHERE ALL OF THE OWNERS ARE AT LEAST SIXTY-FIVE YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AS OF THE DATE SPECIFIED HEREIN AND PROVIDED ALL OTHER REQUIREMENTS ARE SATISFIED SHALL BE ONE HUNDRED PERCENT. S 2. This act shall take effect on the first of January next succeed- ing the date on which it shall have become a law and shall apply to all assessment rolls prepared thereafter.
