AN ACT to amend the public officers law, in relation to  the  disclosure
  of the inventory file of real property

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 87 of the public officers law is amended by  adding
a new subdivision 6 to read as follows:
  6.  FOR  THE  PURPOSES  OF  PARAGRAPH  (B)  OF SUBDIVISION TWO OF THIS
SECTION, THE PROPERTY CHARACTERISTICS OF AN INVENTORY FILE FOR A  PARCEL
OF  REAL  PROPERTY  SHALL NOT BE DEEMED A MATTER OF PERSONAL PRIVACY AND
SHALL BE DISCLOSED BY ANY AGENCY IN POSSESSION OF SUCH  INVENTORY  FILE.
AN  AGENCY  MAY REDACT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION RELATING TO THE OWNER OF
THE REAL PROPERTY  PRIOR  TO  DISCLOSING  THE  PROPERTY  CHARACTERISTICS
CONTAINED WITHIN THE INVENTORY FILE.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
