LAVALLE -- read twice and ordered print- ed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Govern- ment IN ASSEMBLY -- Introduced by M. of A. THIELE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments AN ACT to amend the town law, in relation to requiring that any local law or amendment to a local law relating to Peconic Bay community preservation funds shall be subject to a mandatory referendum pursuant to the municipal home rule law THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 64-e of the town law is amended by adding a new subdivision 14 to read as follows: 14. ANY LOCAL LAW OR AMENDMENT TO A LOCAL LAW, ENACTED PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION, SHALL BE SUBJECT TO A MANDATORY REFERENDUM PURSUANT TO SECTION TWENTY-THREE OF THE MUNICIPAL HOME RULE LAW. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD03924-01-9
