AN ACT to amend the labor law, in relation to informing potential
contractors of responsibilities relating to hours, wages and supple-
ments
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Subdivision 3 of section 220 of the labor law is amended by
adding a new paragraph (f) to read as follows:
(F) IT SHALL BE THE DUTY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF JURISDICTION AS DEFINED
IN THIS SECTION TO PRESCRIBE THE FORM OF A NOTICE INFORMING POTENTIAL
CONTRACTORS, SUBCONTRACTORS OR OTHER PERSONS DOING OR CONTRACTING TO DO
THE WHOLE OR A PART OF THE WORK CONTEMPLATED BY THE CONTRACT OF THEIR
RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER THIS SECTION. THE STATE OR PUBLIC BENEFIT CORPO-
RATION, OR A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, OR A COMMISSION APPOINTED PURSUANT
TO LAW, SHALL ANNEX TO AND FORM A PART OF, THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE
WORK, SUCH NOTICE. SUCH STATE OR PUBLIC BENEFIT CORPORATION OR A MUNICI-
PAL CORPORATION OR A COMMISSION APPOINTED PURSUANT TO LAW SHALL INCLUDE
NOTICE AS TO THE TIME AND COMMENCEMENT OF THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS ON
ALL PUBLIC WORK PROPOSED TO BE CONSTRUCTED.
S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
