AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to requiring the consumer
  protection  board  to  investigate  allegations of dangerous toxins in
  imported toys

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Subdivision  1  of  section  553  of the executive law is
amended by adding a new paragraph a-2 to read as follows:
  A-2. INVESTIGATE ALLEGATIONS OF DANGEROUS TOXIN  LEVELS  IN  IMPORTED,
FOREIGN-MANUFACTURED  JEWELRY  AND  TOYS; AND REPORT TO THE GOVERNOR AND
THE LEGISLATURE WITH RECOMMENDATIONS FOR LEGISLATION TO PROTECT  CONSUM-
ERS;
  S  2.  The  state  consumer  protection board shall provide an initial
report to the governor, the temporary president of the  senate  and  the
speaker of the assembly on or before April 1, 2011.
  S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
