AN  ACT  to  amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to the regu-
  lation of idling by local authorities and school districts

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Subdivision  1 of section 1670 of the vehicle and traffic
law is amended to read as follows:
  1. Prohibit, restrict or limit the stopping, standing, IDLING or park-
ing of vehicles.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day  after  it  shall
have become a law.
