BOYLAND -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Agriculture AN ACT to amend the agriculture and markets law, in relation to provid- ing certain standards for pallets used in the transportation or stor- age of food and other perishable goods THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The agriculture and markets law is amended by adding a new section 156-j to read as follows: S 156-J. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE OF FOOD AND OTHER PERISHABLE GOODS. ANY PALLETS USED IN THE TRANSPORTATION AND/OR STORAGE OF FOOD OR OTHER PERISHABLE ITEMS AND GOODS SHALL BE MADE OF IMPERMEABLE MATERIALS. SUCH PALLETS SHALL BE RESISTANT TO INFESTATION OR CONTAMINATION OF PESTICIDES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, INSECTICIDES, ALGAECIDES, FUNGICIDES, BACTERICIDES, AND HERBICIDES. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD14718-01-9
